Washington DC affected by power outage. 30 block area involved. Expect delays on Metro and check local news for updates.

WASHINGTON -- Thousands homes and businesses are without power after a major outage in northwest D.C. on Friday.
Officials said the outage was due to a failure at a substation on 10th Street.
About 12,535 customers were without power at 9:15 a.m. Power may also be out at Verizon Center and the White House.”

We've got power here on this end of DC....but McPhereson Square Metro did not. They were letting everyone pass through the fare gates (obviously).

This will create ANOTHER nightmare this evening when everybody in the world has to get their fare card adjusted/reset because they "entered" the system with a metro card but did not "exit" the system using a metro card.

Get to the Metro EARLY!!!!!!!
