Just wanted to put out a quick warning...

My friend lives in Cobbdale in Fairfax City. Her 14 year old son missed the bus this morning and was walking to a friend's house to catch a ride from his father when a hispanic man with facial hair stopped and offered him a ride. He was driving a white van. It may have been innocent, it may have been something worse. Just a heads up if you live in that area. This really did occur, it is not a story meant to scare parents on halloween.

Generally speaking, people don't offer kids rides these days for the exact reason that they will be picked up as a child molester.

These events should be reported to the local police jurisdiction's non-emergency line (In this case Fairfax City). They can log the event and have their street officers keep an eye out at least.
